i can't decide if i think this is more hilarious or pathetic

a woman was injured at walmart trying to shop at a post-thanksgiving sale. now i don't think is it funny that she got hurt, that's the sad (but not pathetic) part.

several things strike me as hilarious / pathetic on the part of walmart
1. the siren sounding to start the sale (on your mark, get set, consume!)
2. the walmart employee helps the sister to her unconscious shopping partner, but doesn't stop the mob (not that i blame him for getting clear of turkey-stuffed walmartians with $29 electronics in their eyes)
3. the paramedics found this woman unconscious on top of her trophy (from my cold dead hands!)
4. but the best statement in the whole thing is the response from walmart and I quote
"Ms. Ellzey said Wal-Mart officials called later Friday to ask about her sister, and the store apologized and offered to put a DVD player on hold for her." -- could the wealthiest empire in america not at least give the poor, mauled, black-and-blue woman a $29 DVD player?

ah it truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
