taking (continuing?) a break

i've had several of you ask me over the last few weeks where i've been so i thought i would explain my lack of faithfulness to post.

it seems like every time i have sat down to write the last few weeks i have started a post or an idea and then decided to erase it and walk away. between our adoption and renovating the loft and helping coach caleb's baseball team and 1000 other things, i think i'm a little distracted in just about everything i'm doing.

to help settle down some of that, i have decided to take (extend) a break for a few more weeks. once the summer finishes up and life gets back into a rhythm, then i will be a little more focused (at least as focused as i get). anyway, thanks for the concern from those who have expressed it and thanks for wondering enough about me to check out what's up. i'll be back sometime around mid-august or whenever the mood strikes. if there's anyone left who cares to find out when i post again, just leave a comment on this post with your email and i'll let you know.

while you're waiting, check out some of the blogs of other guys that i read. they are on the list to the right.

talk to you soon.

this is crazy

take a minute to read this article. it's about the world's longest concert - a 639 year organ solo. you have to read the article to understand and if you know anything about john cage, it won't shock you to know he was a part of this.
if you find yourself in germany, stop by and hear a note. if you're really lucky, you might hear one change.

i must say, i attended some recitals in college that felt at least that long.
